AREA MANAGER

 

Missions

Manage a team of Fleet Managers and Fleet Assistants. Technically qualified and expert in Rail regulations, the area Manager trains, supports and mentors his team. He/She aims to satisfy management objectives, customer satisfaction and keeps his team motivated.

The Area Manager is responsible of his team of Fleet Manager performance. He is in charge of keeping the contracts conditions satisfied for ones managed by his team.

The Area Manager is in charge of assuming ECM regulations are understood by his team and followed.

Reactivity and communication are the main characteristics of this position. Dedicated to satisfy customers while maximising the income, the tasks of the Area Manager are :

 

Team Management

  • To communicate to his team objectives and priority decided by the management. The Area Manager has the delegation of Head Manager to split the charge between members of his team,

  • To monitor deployment of instructions,

  • To keep team aware about new rail regulation (GCU) and advise about any consequence for contract application,

  • To maintain close communication with fleet Managers using weekly team and punctually one to one meetings

  • To take advantage of personal interview to identify training needs, any kind

  • To organise a Monthly review per customer with Fleet Managers based on performance of the Month

  • To follow up maintenance plan for MixLease contracts and planned maintenance for all contracts managed by the dedicated FM team

  • To specially support Fleet Managers in charge of ECM contracts

  • To check if rebilling is complete, i.e invoicing to RU, customer rebilling and workshop rebilling with support of Maintenance Organisation Manager

  • To check on a monthly basis that Monthly Proforma complies with Lease conditions agreed

  • To supervise the Fleet Managers team and is specially in charge of :

    • Managing a planning of absences and holidays in coordination with the second Area Manager keeping a minimum number of FM at work

    • Managing a business trips planning

    • Implementing integration program for each new FM

    • Ensure a pleasant and efficient collaboration between fleet manager and fleet assistant

    • Ensure the record and saving of data is performed properly to ensure performance and ECM safety

 

Reporting Management and representation role

  • To meet customer on regular basis and according to needs with FM

  • To contribute at definition of priorities with Head of FM and Maintenance Org Manager,

  • To participate in GCU working group discussions with consideration of Touax’s interest,

  • To Edit team KPI and review it monthly with Head of FM,

  • To present a planning of training for dedicated team on a yearly basis taking into consideration the policy of ongoing training,

  • To review and address globally needs in spare parts and wheelsets to Logistics & participate to the working session on spare need definition with Logistic and technical departments

  • To address workshop performance to Maintenance Organisation Mgr,

  • To review reports with Head of Fleet Management before internal and external edition,

  • To edit improvement request related to tools or methodology and cooperate with DSI in order to define the needs,

  • To keep a unique process used to keep capability to communicate file and contract information from FM to FM.

 

High communication with other actors of rail service impacting wagons availability Capacity to work as a team with the other Area Manager

Satisfy yearly decided Service Level Agreement on timeline

  • English and ideally another  other language French or German

  • GCU regulation use

 

Previous experience in Rail industry is required.
